Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree is required; Master of Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice may be required depending on position or magnet requirements. If only a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master's degree in a related field or Doctor of Nursing Practice completion expected within 4 years of hire date is required.
  • Current Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or a compact state; certification/licensure as RN required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
  • Minimum of two years of prior clinical work experience required (clinical track) or minimum of two years of prior healthcare work experience for non-clinical track.
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory clinic operations, including patient flow, scheduling, access, and revenue cycle; familiarity with electronic health records and practice management software.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups including medical staff, patients, and staff; effective communication with physicians, patients, and staff; leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and pivot tables; experience with practice management software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Profit & Loss statements and budgetary processes preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of MUSC Health Ambulatory clinics to ensure quality patient care and efficient clinic performance.
  • Monitor patient flow, resolve operational problems, and maximize patient care services.
  • Oversee and manage administrative and clinical staff to achieve a positive patient experience.
  • Evaluate appointment scheduling processes and collaborate with stakeholders to improve efficiency.
  • Assess patient satisfaction monthly and address service complaints.
  • Manage clinic within allocated budget and support revenue cycle enhancements.
  • Coordinate procurement of medical and office supplies and capital equipment.
  • Partake in staffing decisions and maintain competency to assist with staffing needs.
  • Communicate organizational priorities to staff and maintain engagement with the clinic team.
  • Lead human resources functions including recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development; manage staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory standards for quality and safety; collaborate with nursing leadership to ensure adherence to nursing practice within ambulatory care clinics.
  • Lead and participate in performance improvement initiatives and process redesign to improve patient care and clinic efficiency.
  • Support strategies to improve patient satisfaction and engagement and promote continuous staff development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and implement changes in patient care delivery and involve stakeholders in decision making.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) completion or current enrollment within four years of hire date if BSN only.
  • Certified in a specialty area or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged.
  • Experience in leading teams, coaching staff, and knowledge of financial systems and analysis.
