Requirements
  • Must possess an active, unencumbered license to practice as a Nurses Practitioner in Maine and be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Must be eligible to practice independently as outlined by the Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation Board of Nursing.
  • Must be licensed to practice in the outpatient primary care setting.
  • A current valid license to operate a vehicle in the state of Maine and a driving record that is satisfactory to the company may be required.
  • Frequent travel is required to service residents across the state in their residence at a Woodlands Senior Living community.
  • Must complete a criminal history record check to the satisfaction of the company.
Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient history and performs comprehensive assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Develops individualized care plans to manage conditions and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for the resident.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • Provides counseling and education to residents and their families concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture, appropriate informed choices and shared decision-making.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as an independent Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
