Sedna unveils new unified platform. Sedna has unveiled a new positioning as "The Operating System for Shipping", bringing communication, commercial workflows and operational data into a single integrated platform. The move reflects Sedna's push to replace fragmented systems - particularly email-led processes - with a unified environment tailored to how shipping companies operate. The platform is structured around three core pillars: Sedna Email, Sedna Trade and Sedna Build. Sedna Email (formerly Stream) organises communication into structured workflows, while Sedna Trade - incorporating voyage management and pre-fixture tools - connects chartering, operations and finance teams from initial deal through to settlement. Sedna Build enables companies to customise workflows, integrate external systems and deploy automation and AI across operations. Founder and CEO Bill Dobie said: "Shipping has always run on conversation... the problem was the tools failing to keep up. Sedna exists to close that gap." Erik Loy, founder of Dataloy, now part of Sedna's voyage management system, added: "This is the product we set out to build, now with the platform behind it to match." With shipping teams handling growing volumes of data and increasingly complex workflows, the shift toward platform-based operating models signals a broader move away from email-driven processes toward integrated, end-to-end digital infrastructure.
After onboarding 12,500 businesses and partnering with DHL and Lufthansa, estonia's MyDello secures €3.1 million. Tallinn-based shipping logistics platform MyDello has raised €3.1 million in new funding to accelerate international expansion, starting with the UK, where customers can use the platform from December onwards. Icelandic VC Frumtak Ventures led the investment round, with participation from existing investor Finnish early stage VC Superhero Capital. Joining the board are Frumtak Ventures general partner Andri Heiðar Kristinsson and (previous investor in MyDello) Jevgeni Kabanov, President of Bolt. MyDello co-founder and CEO Joel Timm says: "We love logistics - my co-founders and I have decades of experience and know the highs and lows of the industry. When we launched MyDello in 2021 we knew there was a better way for our industry to operate and in just a few years we have facilitated thousands of shipments, built up a deep customer base, and struck partnerships and agreements with hundreds of key carriers and industry peers. However, this is just the start, and we're overjoyed to welcome Frumtak Ventures, and we thank them and our returning investors for their support." In the context of European logistics and FreightTech funding in 2025, MyDello's round sits alongside continued investment into platforms focused on modernising transport, fulfilment and shipment management. Lisbon-based logistics platform Lyzer raised over €10 million to support international expansion and further development of its logistics-as-a-service offering. In Belgium, Ghent-based transport management system provider Qargo secured a €28 million Series B to scale operations and product development across Europe. Germany has also seen activity, with Frankfurt-based rail freight platform Rail-Flow closing a €12.5 million Series A to expand its AI-driven rail and intermodal transport management software, while Berlin-based maritime crew logistics startup Tilla raised €2 million to grow its international footprint. Elsewhere, Vienna-based e-commerce fulfilment provider Quivo secured €5.2 million to expand into the Gulf region, and London-based maritime and supply-chain communications platform Sedna Communications raised €10 million to further develop its technology platform. Taken together, these rounds represent approximately €67 million invested in European logistics and TrasportTech startups during 2025. Against this backdrop, MyDello's funding reflects a broader trend towards greater automation, real-time visibility and software-driven efficiency across freight forwarding and global logistics. Frumtak Ventures general partner Andri Heiðar Kristinsson adds: "MyDello is an awesome company: experienced founders with deep industry experience, proven track record, and crystal clear vision for what is next. Being from Iceland, an island in the North Atlantic, we at Frumtak know first-hand how important global logistics and freight forwarding is, while we also remain baffled by the outdated legacy technology and manual processes still dominant in this fragmented industry. "MyDello is perfectly positioned to move the industry forward to the AI-age through its ambitious mission of fully automating shipment operations. MyDello also marks Frumtak's first investment in an Estonian company, a remarkable and thriving tech ecosystem that has created so many success stories." Founded in 2021, MyDello is an Estonian logistics platform that helps businesses manage international shipments. It enables real-time comparison of different shipping solutions and helps companies select the most suitable transportation method for their needs. MyDello is an exclusively B2B company, working directly with clients drawn from sectors such as manufacturing, wholesale, and e-commerce. The company says they are the first digital freight forwarder to offer instant door-to-door pricing and routing for all freight modes (generated with a single inquiry), from 1 kg all the way up to 10 shipping containers, drawing on agreements with 400+ carriers and partnerships with the likes of DHL, Lufthansa, Maersk, Qatar Airways, and Finnair. Since its founding, MyDello has onboarded 12,500 businesses from 110 countries to its platform. Following YoY growth MyDello is today available across 12 countries in Europe and China, with the company on track to cover every European country by 2027. MyDello believes that too much of the global freight trade is stuck in the past - with entrepreneurship held back by paper-based systems, negotiations and haggling, and even reliant on faxing critical documents. At the same time, businesses rarely know where their cargo is at any given time. Whereas MyDello offers its customers a streamlined process where they only have to enter the origin, destination, dimensions, and weight of cargo and the technology takes care of everything else. All the customer has to do then is choose the most suitable offer from the options presented - and the shipping is arranged. Customers have real-time AI-powered tracking information and countdown to delivery, giving peace of mind that shipments are on track, while it's free to use for every business customer. MyDello works extensively on high complexity international long distance freight, such as that in and out of the EU, and has particular focuses on China (the company has an office in Shenzhen) as well as key trading lanes between the Americas and Europe. The company has already facilitated shipments between 120 countries and much of MyDello's business is in air, ocean, and rail freight, but the company works across all freight classes.
StormGeo and Sedna partner on bunker data management. StormGeo and Sedna have agreed a partnership to integrate Sedna's communication technology directly into StormGeo's Bunker Management platform, creating a combined workspace for bunker procurement and operations. The collaboration is aimed at reducing manual data entry and improving decision-making for shipping companies managing high-volume bunker communications. The move will allow mutual clients to access and send Sedna emails from within StormGeo, eliminating the need to switch between applications. Updates exchanged in Sedna, including quantity changes, ETD adjustments and other operational messages, will automatically synchronise with StormGeo's analytics environment. Attachments such as BDNs and supplier invoices will also move directly into the system to support post-bunkering workflows. For Sedna users, the linkage will extend Sedna's tagging and automation features into bunker-management processes. "This important partnership reinforces Sedna's commitment to an open maritime ecosystem and providing our mutual customers easy communication and integrated access to their key maritime platforms," said Kirk Wedge, Head of Shipping Solutions at Sedna.
