About Team AR display & Optics team focuses on the innovation and development of the core optical and display components for augmented reality. The team members are based in China and in the US and collaborate closely. 90% of the team members own a Ph.D. degrees in Physics, Material Science and Electrical Engineering and have extensive industrial experience from semiconductors, consumer electronics and near eye displays. Responsibilities 1. Be responsible for design and development of optical architectures for augmented reality 2. Perform system level analysis and guide the development of critical components such as waveguides and micro-projectors 3. Explore future optical architectures and lead prototyping work Minimum Qualifications: - A master’s or doctoral degree in Optics, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines. - Five or more years of experience in the XR field, with a strong foundation in optical knowledge. - In-depth understanding of critical optical components for augmented reality - Experiences with augmented reality optical systems Preferred Qualifications: - Proven track record of shipping augmented reality products - Leadership skills and excellent technical/non-technical communication skills ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
