Requirements
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with policymakers as well as key global leading technical experts
  • Technical familiarity with Generative AI, and experience working alongside technical teams
  • An understanding of global public policy issues particularly with respect to AI policy
  • Ability to identify and analyze public policy developments, put them into context and identify/communicate key concerns and insights
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging AI policy issues, and adapt Cohere For AI's policies and practices accordingly
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across full-time team, scholars, and broader C4AI community to improve approaches to responsible model development & deployment, such as improving system interpretability, traceability, and evaluation
  • Maintain detailed records and reports on all public policy and responsible AI activities to demonstrate compliance and accountability and help shape the future efforts
  • Develop research-informed best practices to guide the broader community on the responsible development of deployment of AI
  • Proactively monitor, report and craft thoughtful responses to governmental initiatives and regulatory issues, providing feedback and technical perspectives to foster technically grounded and effective governance of AI systems
  • Develop and maintain accountability frameworks for AI, including plans for addressing AI-related issues or failures
  • Drive initiatives and work to foster collaborations and conversations across the ecosystem to better inform approaches to responsible development and deployment
  • Launch initiatives to steward public awareness of AI capabilities and their limitations through whitepapers, guides, workshops, gatherings, and courses
  • Continue to support collaborative research engagements with cross-institutional collaboratorsacross the space
Desired Qualifications
  • : Master's degree (or higher) in Law, Public Policy/Administration, Management, Data Management, AI/ML, IP rights or other technology, or similar fields
