Nuclear Training Instructor

Summary

The Technical Nuclear Training Instructor develops, maintains and delivers accredited training courses for plant employees in technical specialty area of electrical that complies with applicable NRC regulations and is consistent with INPO Accreditation Objectives and Criteria.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years of direct job-related technical experience AND a minimum of 2 years at a Journeyman Level or Fully Qualified Shift Technician.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
Nuclear experience.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Nuclear Requirements
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Executes all phases of a Systematic Approach to Training by identifying and defining training and job scope needs that enhance line performance through various analysis processes.
2) Designs and develops learning and development curriculum.
3) Integrates industry best practices materials and lessons learned by experts.
4) Utilizes current instructional technology and strategies such as virtual learning, vision, computer-based training (CBT) and dynamic learning activities.
5) Implements learning events and programs by delivering classroom training.
6) Develops and maintains training program schedules, task lists and other program documents required to meet ACAD requirements.
7) Evaluates training curriculum and program to determine if student and organization needs are met and implemented appropriately.
8) Supervises students in all training settings to ensure standards of conduct prescribed on Nuclear Training Department procedures are met.
9) Reinforces management standards and expectations in all training settings.
10) Performs self-assessments and observations of line activities to identify strengths and weaknesses needing corrective action.
11) Partners with line management to manage and monitor training programs.
12) Maintains technical knowledge and skills in assigned discipline.
