Requirements
  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • Must achieve ARRT registration
  • Illinois State License
  • Must maintain educational requirements for licensure and registration
  • Must maintain up-dated licensure and registration
  • Completion of initial and/or annual competencies as specified by Department Manager to fulfill accrediting body requirements
Responsibilities
  • Performs routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures according to department policy and procedures
  • Updates patient examination history files
  • Enters data into computer system
  • Consults with supervisors, Radiologist, or ordering physician as necessary to provide appropriate patient care
  • Understands all interventional procedures and assists physician in a variety of exams
  • Insertion and removal of PICC lines and micro-puncture access
  • Follows appropriate safety precautions
  • Performs visual preventative safety inspections
  • Reports dangerous department or equipment conditions appropriately
  • Assists M.D. with AAA Repair and Carotid Stent Device Management
  • Works with the interventional radiologist to develop protocol and perform procedures for line placement and pain management procedures
  • Maintains IDNS license and ARRT registration; remains current on developing trends in diagnostic radiology; participates in continuing education
  • Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area; maintains appropriate supply levels
  • Treats patients in professional and respectful manner
  • Demonstrates age-specific competency
  • Explains procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
