Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in IT.
  • At least 7 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead application analyst role.
  • Broad technical knowledge across modern IT environments, including Azure and third-party cloud services using infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, and software as a service; the Microsoft 365 platform; networking and security principles; and full software development life cycle experience across on-premises and cloud platforms.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and implement application solutions and digital initiatives such as cloud migrations, process automations, and AI-powered tools from idea through deployment.
  • Experience with the ITIL framework for support and operations and Agile/DevOps methodologies for solution delivery.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to manage relationships with business stakeholders and external partners or vendors.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, JavaScript or TypeScript, C# or .NET, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools and platforms, including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and agentic frameworks, and practical experience applying them to automate processes or enhance application capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation as applied to applications and business processes.
  • Experience supporting Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Experience with modern enterprise database technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with the Application System Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience applying application development standards.
  • Practical experience implementing, configuring, and supporting AI capabilities within enterprise applications, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure AI services, OpenAI technologies, Anthropic Claude, or comparable large language model ecosystems.
  • Ability to lead meetings, contribute to discussions, and communicate ideas clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of updates, enhancements, and new capabilities across the application portfolio, ensuring alignment with user requirements and business objectives.
  • Oversee the full application lifecycle from planning and development through deployment, support, and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to use automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and business value.
  • Participate in and act as application lead for projects involving upgrades, integrations, and new deployments.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to plan and execute system changes with minimal disruption, supporting modern cloud, automation, and productivity solutions within broader digital initiatives.
  • Gather and document business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and coordinate with developers, vendors, end users, and other cross-functional teams to implement application changes or new systems.
  • Communicate application capabilities and limitations to stakeholders to set appropriate expectations.
  • Monitor application performance and availability daily, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maximize system reliability and user satisfaction.
  • Resolve and document incidents and problems, taking steps to prevent recurrence and addressing major incidents during critical periods, including outside regular hours when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Create knowledge articles and deliver knowledge-transfer sessions to support effective application use, consistent practices, and adoption of new capabilities.
  • Adhere to ITIL best practices, security policies, and governance standards across the application portfolio.
  • Ensure systems meet corporate and regulatory requirements for data security, privacy, and responsible use of technology.
  • Mentor Application Analysts and the IT Service Management team.
  • Support the Manager, Applications in administering and operating the application portfolio lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance on team processes, enforce quality standards in deliverables, and champion continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Liaise with the Security team on security governance processes, including security assessments, risk remediation, and integrating security considerations into application design and change activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on application architecture, data flows, and integrations to identify risks, assess impacts, and support security decisions.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance teams on test strategies, complex-change validation, systemic quality issues, test-device preparation, issue reproduction, defect resolution, and post-change validation.
  • Explore AI-assisted testing and automation tools to improve testing coverage and efficiency where applicable.
  • Implement, configure, and integrate AI-enabled capabilities within the enterprise application portfolio in accordance with enterprise architectural patterns and standards.
  • Build and configure AI features in business applications and workflows, evaluate AI platforms and tools, and identify practical use cases.
  • Collaborate with business, application, data, security, and vendor teams to deliver secure, supportable AI solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Apply AI development practices including integration, data access, prompt design, testing, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Provide day-to-day support for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Uphold AI governance by implementing solutions according to organizational standards for privacy, security, ethical use, data protection, and regulatory compliance, and by adopting reusable frameworks and organizational best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and user experience through trend analysis, user feedback, and operational insights.
  • Recommend application enhancements and process improvements using modern tools and approaches where appropriate.
  • Provide second- and third-level application support using ITIL incident and problem-management practices, focusing on escalated issues, root-cause analysis, and major or high-priority incidents.
