Requirements
  • 5+ years experience leading a product marketing, customer success engineering, or sales engineering function at a growth technical product company focused on B2B
  • Experience in DevSecOps or open source software industry preferred
  • Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment preferred
  • Hands-on technical or sales experience is a strong plus
  • Ability to effectively lead sales enablement and training
  • Understanding and simplifying challenging technical content
  • Knowledge of trends and strong curiosity about learning new things
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • A technical bachelor's degree is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of global product marketing function in a fast-paced, high-growth private-equity backed DevSecOps product company.
  • Define team-wide metrics and annual and quarterly plans and oversee the functional budget. Develop and deploy team-wide key competencies and best practices that strive to retain and grow talent.
  • Serves as chief product advisor to executive leadership on Sonatype’s platform and product value messaging.
  • Inform and drive comprehensive messaging and positioning strategies, ensuring maximum impact for product releases, lead generation, launch strategies, revenue growth, and enablement.
  • Oversees competitive marketing intelligence programs (e.g., competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, market intelligence). Analyze market intelligence and provide strategic insights that drive decisions throughout the organization.
  • Lead Analyst Relations. Build and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts and influencers. Implement strategies to support positioning that keeps Sonatype ahead of the competition and well-positioned within analyst reports.
  • Collaborate with customers, product management, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on product messaging, launch strategies, event demonstrations, and sales enablement.
  • Contribute to creating high-impact content communicating our value proposition, including sales pitch decks, white papers, product videos, and web/digital assets.
  • Support the marketing team with demand generation campaigns and product launches and ensure technical accuracy in marketing materials.
  • Design a competitive intelligence program that compliments product roadmap priorities and sales enablement.
