Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or related field preferred
  • Progressive leadership experience with clinical and non-clinical teams in a perioperative, surgical services, ASC, or hospital setting
  • Five to ten years of senior management experience in ambulatory surgery, perioperative services, physician practice operations, or a comparable healthcare environment
  • Experience leading process improvement, patient safety/quality programs, and regulatory/accreditation readiness preferred
  • Ability to articulate vision and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leaders, and other healthcare professionals regarding perioperative operations and practice environment
  • Demonstrated ability to gain and maintain the confidence of physicians, staff, and executive stakeholders through credibility, transparency, and results
  • Strong knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office products, business management resources and tools
  • Proactive decision maker with the ability to work with little or no supervision of direction

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and integrate the strategic direction and long and short-term goals and objectives, focusing on systems, program development, quality and fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, physician relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building
  • Provide executive oversight of ASC, procedure area, and cath lab operations, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow across pre-op, intra-op/procedure, PACU/recovery, sterile processing, and perioperative/procedural support functions
  • Partner with surgeons, anesthesia leadership, nursing leadership, and operational leaders to set strategic direction, capacity plans, block utilization strategy, case mix strategy, and service line growth priorities
  • Own operating and capital budgets for the ASC; drive financial performance through throughput optimization, supply cost management, labor productivity, and revenue integrity in alignment with organizational policies
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle to optimize coding, charge capture, prior authorizations, claims/denials management, payer contracting impacts, and patient financial experience for ASC services
  • Lead quality and patient safety initiatives, including performance improvement, infection prevention, medication safety, incident reporting, and root cause analysis/corrective action planning
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS Conditions for Coverage, state regulations, and accreditation standards as applicable), including policy/procedure governance and survey readiness
  • Establish and maintain controls, dashboards, and feedback systems to monitor key ASC metrics (quality, satisfaction, engagement, efficiency, on-time starts, turnaround time, cancellations, utilization, and financial performance)
  • Oversee staffing strategy and talent development for ASC leadership and teams; lead performance management, coaching, succession planning, and culture-building aligned to organizational values and service standards
  • Drive patient experience excellence through service recovery processes, communication standards, and collaboration with scheduling, pre-admission testing, and clinic teams
  • Provide oversight for ASC facilities planning and capital projects in partnership with Facilities/Construction, including equipment planning, lifecycle replacement, and renovation/new build support
  • Prepare and present periodic reports to executive leadership and governance groups as needed to track performance, risks, and progress toward goals
  • Support business development initiatives, outreach, and strategic partnerships that expand ASC market share and improve access to surgical services
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to the SC Way customer service philosophy; comply with OSHA, training, and incident reporting requirements
  • Perform other job duties and special projects as assigned
