Requirements
  • Solid / relevant experience in counterparty credit risk management
  • Citi Senior Credit Officer (SCO) or equivalent qualification is needed
  • Preferable prior coverage: large, complex, banks and finance companies for a broad range of loan, capital markets and treasury/cash management products
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements and change, specifically those from Basel and European regulatory authorities (desirable)
  • Knowledge of treasury, cash management, and clearing products and services
  • Deep technical expertise with the ability to combine a broader skillset of managing stakeholders and driving a strategic agenda
  • Ability to lead projects and assignments of high complexity within Citi
  • Understanding of Citi’s internal models and risk management practices
  • Understanding and insight into key regulations affecting Citi’s use of counterparty credit internal models
  • Ability to identify complex business issues ensuring proper analysis / interpretation of issues
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Directing the initial and annual credit reviews on a portfolio of banks, brokers and/or NBFIs.
  • Approving credit facilities, specific transactions and exceptions within delegated credit authority and communicating with the 1st Line of Defence and sales force on a daily basis.
  • Reviewing bespoke transactions and new products.
  • Advancing and innovating risk management tactics
  • Streamlining processes and changing firm-wide policies and procedures to be more reflective of current market conditions
  • Negotiating the credit-related terms in committed loan documents as well as ISDAs, MRAs, MSFTAs and other capital markets legal documentation.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff.
  • Provide recommendations about specific clients within the portfolio and provide monitoring of all extensions of credit for these names
  • Work with Frankfurt and Dublin based CEP and CGME Head of Counterparty Credit Risk respectively on specific projects, including portfolio reviews, updating of credit processes within the portfolio, presentations to senior management, adherence to Regulations and Guidelines, IFRS 9 etc.
  • Have the responsibility acting as the 2LoD for the Businesses (Investment Banking and Markets) and ICM for approvals and risk management on relationships within the portfolio.
  • Monitor industry, product and macro-economic developments and assess the impact on portfolio
  • Undertake critical projects and ad-hoc risk requests as they arise
  • Work closely with the regional and global FIG&CCR Team as well as with Citi’s global Risk team.
