Requirements
  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to obtain a Motor Vehicle Report; use of company vehicle is a requirement.
  • Overnight travel is required to an active construction site for a period of one or two weeks at a time; ability to perform duties safely outdoors on active job sites.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • A valid Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all engineering responsibilities and activities.
  • Delegate engineering responsibilities and activities within their team.
  • Lead the design and checking processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of schedule and design.
  • Directly train and direct Certified Engineers and Civil Engineering Technicians assigned to their team.
  • Maintain design standards and training guidelines.
  • Coordinate and problem solve issues between design teams and departments.
  • Answer technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, customers and their representatives.
  • Recognize and recommend methods to improve every customer’s experience.
  • Travel periodically to both customer offices for project meetings and to job sites for construction visits.
  • The Civil Engineer Team Leader will have multiple employees reporting to this position.
  • Work with the VP of Civil Engineering to coordinate the scheduling of employee Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Work with the VP of Civil Engineering to recruit, hire and train new engineers.
  • Provide input on organizational structure, employee performance, continuing education, employee development and disciplinary actions.
  • As assigned by the Civil Engineer Manager.
  • Performs quality work within deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Interacts professionally with other employees and customers.
  • Works effectively as a leader on all assigned projects.
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethics in all client relationships and communications.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor and teams regarding designs, concerns, studies or tests.
  • Desires to participate in continued education and training.
  • Must have clean driving record as use of company vehicles is a requirement of position.
