Requirements
  • 8-10 years of experience originating residential mortgages.
  • Knowledge of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques, with the ability to transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques, and tools, with the ability to develop future-oriented sales plans that support business strategy and reflect emerging and existing market opportunities.
  • Knowledge of residential mortgage instruments and the ability to apply them to specific situations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to sell an organization's products and services.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of banking products and services to meet customer needs, identify prospecting approaches, and create opportunities to sell financial solutions and ideas.
  • Ability to implement customer experience strategies and techniques that ensure positive customer interactions with the organization and its products and services.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Responsibilities
  • Maximize mortgage lending production in the assigned area through mortgage market share growth, new customer acquisition, cross-selling, pipeline management, recruiting, compliance, training, and development of direct reports.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals, including deposit, loan, and other applicable goals.
  • Manage strategic partnerships to maximize residential lending production for Mortgage Bankers and Loan Production Assistants and support business development efforts.
  • Grow, retain, and cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and effective sales team covering the market geography or assigned area.
  • Oversee the business integrity of the market or assigned area.
  • Manage and coordinate mortgage loan officers' activities in promoting and providing products and services.
  • Drive productivity through sales initiatives and market strategies.
  • Develop proactive sales plans to maximize growth and retention of real estate product and service customers.
  • Manage sales processes, procedures, and activities for Mortgage Bankers to ensure an exceptional client experience; monitor, coach, and manage toward a best-in-class client experience.
  • Implement policy changes in the assigned area.
  • Analyze and recommend resources and staffing changes, evaluate and assess direct reports, and promote initiatives supporting team professional development.
  • Identify qualified Mortgage Banker candidates and maintain a recruitment pipeline to minimize extended sales-position vacancies.
  • Oversee and manage the pipeline, upfront loan process, and procedures for quality file submission.
  • Meet production budget goals assigned to the market.
  • Ensure minimum production standards are met by direct reports and execute performance improvement or corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Provide continuing education for Mortgage Bankers and roll out strategic initiatives for the bank or Residential line of business.
  • Manage Mortgage Banker capabilities and sales systems to maximize cross-selling and create complete customer relationships.
  • Maximize market opportunity through internal and external partner collaboration and long- and short-term sales strategies.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with Retail, Wealth, and Commercial lines of business where applicable.
  • Respond timely and appropriately to escalations and issues.
  • Promote and nurture a collaborative and inclusive work environment that increases employee engagement and supports employee development.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of mortgage banking markets, products, pricing, laws, compliance, regulations, practices, competitors, technology, and current industry issues.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with business objectives and activities in accordance with the CNB Risk Management Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines, including Fair Lending.
  • Ensure required compliance training is completed on time by direct reports.
