Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting or surgical center with sterilization responsibilities
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
- Traveling experience of at least 2 years
- Ready to start immediately
Responsibilities
- Provide sterile surgical instrumentation to the Operating Room(s) and other areas of the hospital
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient by adhering to standards, policies and procedures
- Able to operate within budgetary specifications, including time management, productivity and accuracy of practice
- Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency
- Must be able to operate all department equipment
- Maintains proper documentation of all sterilization processes and biological monitoring activities
- Adheres to all infection control guidelines
- Accurately prepares, inspects, assembles, and sterilizes items according to their specific process guidelines
- Maintains inventory
- Communicates with OR staff to ensure instruments needed are available and sterilized for all cases
- Retrieves malfunctioning instruments and ensures repairs are completed
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills and an ability to identify process bottlenecks and drive improvements
