As a Citi Private Bank (CPB) Deposit & Treasury Management Sales Associate, you will work closely with Private Banker teams within your designated coverage region to assist in generating new business from prospective clients and deepening and supporting existing clients. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, understanding their Deposit & Treasury Management needs and positioning solutions which help them improve and streamline their business banking operations. This person will be in constant contact with CPB Banker Teams as well as directly with our clients in a product sales capacity. Excellent sales and product skills are required, as well as exhibiting a high degree of professionalism at all times. The successful candidate must possess knowledge of general business banking, treasury management tools and deposit product solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide product sales support to private banker teams within your coverage area to assist in generating new banking depository and treasury management business from prospective private bank clients
- Directly interface with the client’s CFO, CEO, Controller, Treasurer & Accounting Staff
- Understand & evaluate clients’ business needs by employing a consultative sales approach to determine their requirements and recommend solutions
- Evoke meaningful discussions with clients around their critical issues and propose integrated cash management and banking solutions
- Knowledge of BASEL III LCR requirements with ability to explain to clients and understand impact on bank’s balance sheet
- Full Engagement & Execution on all Strategic Business Development Initiatives
- Nurture and deepen existing private bank client relationships
- Conduct banker portfolio and client relationship reviews to generate new business
- Prepare and present competitor statement analyses and product proposals
- Ongoing travel to CPB offices within your designated coverage area
- Support the Proposal & RFP bidding processes
- Proactively keep CPB offices and clients abreast of new products, enhancements and industry developments
- Create and maintain a solid working relationship with the overall banking & custody team, product partners and colleagues throughout Citi
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience
- Possess a minimum of 7 years of cash management, banking and client interfacing experience
- Have knowledge of Treasury Management products, banking & the client sales cycle
- Awareness of Private Banking (preferable but not required)
- High degree of professionalism
- Builds robust working relationships with clients and internal colleagues
- Strong written, listening & verbal communication skills
- Excellent consultative selling & negotiation ability
- Attention to detail and consistent follow-up skills
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation or willingness to pursue within 1-2 years of hire
- Proficiency in MS Office, internet applications & pipeline reporting systems
