Our challenge
We are seeking a skilled Python PySpark Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong programming expertise in Python and experience with Apache Spark, particularly in data processing and analytics. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and processing large datasets to deliver actionable insights for our business.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $120k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design and implement efficient data processing pipelines using PySpark to handle large volumes of data.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop and optimize Spark jobs for performance and scalability.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in Python to support data processing tasks.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for business improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and integration.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in coding and software development.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in PySpark and big data technologies.
Requirements:
You are:
Proven experience as a Python Developer, with a strong focus on PySpark and big data processing.
Solid understanding of Apache Spark architecture and its components.
Proficiency in writing efficient and optimized queries in SQL.
Experience with data storage technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, or cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
