  • Medical experience is required.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English language ability is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or the aptitude to learn it is required.
  • Availability to work 2–4 days each month based on organizational needs is required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients by greeting them, checking them in and out, and answering phones.
  • Ensure appointments are scheduled with the correct provider, time, and location.
  • Answer general patient questions about account balances, driving directions, and fax numbers for sending patient information.
  • Obtain accurate, up-to-date patient information during scheduling and confirm it at registration.
  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances at registration.
  • Facilitate calls to the appropriate venue.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and confirm that required procedure authorizations have been obtained.
  • Scrub and prepare assigned charts on scheduled days.
  • Check that registration information is updated every three months.
  • Check that medical history information is updated at least once each calendar year.
  • Check insurance eligibility and confirm balances that need to be collected.
  • Document information that needs to be collected from patients at registration.
  • Prepare a packet and pertinent information for new patients to complete upon arrival.
  • Maintain client relations and provide customer service to patients.
  • Assist the Office Manager and team in developing policies and plans to improve patient flow and minimize patient complaints.
  • Research and resolve customer issues without escalating for additional guidance.
  • Reconcile appointments at the end of each day and provide the reconciliation to the Billing Supervisor.
  • Document actions and next steps in each account, create follow-up tasks with due dates, and follow up within 30 days to ensure resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
