Requirements
  • Build customer-facing skills at scale inside a large, global technical organization serving hundreds or thousands of people.
  • Have experience as a solutions architect or in a closely related customer-facing role, including running discovery, handling executive conversations, and turning technical wins into consumption.
  • Understand how artificial intelligence changes technical talent development and be able to articulate the resulting implications for field development.
  • Understand how technical professionals learn and what shifts their behavior.
  • Build tools, artificial intelligence workflows, and practice systems, using artificial intelligence tools as a daily force multiplier.
  • Build programs from scratch using a zero-to-one approach.
  • Work with senior leaders as a peer and challenge existing approaches when data indicates they are ineffective.
  • Design scalable solutions for a 3,000-person technical field across AMER, EMEA, and APJ, prioritizing leverage and automation.
  • Communicate and facilitate effectively with senior solutions architects and write for an asynchronous global audience.
  • Demonstrate fluency in executive engagement and strategic selling methodologies such as Challenger, MEDDPICC, Value Selling, or similar.
Responsibilities
  • Own the global strategy for Customer Skills across Field Engineering, including its frameworks, standards, and definition of trusted advisorship, and execute it end to end.
  • Build influence approaches in the context of the platform, including discovery, working backward from business outcomes, executive engagement, value framing, and consumption-driven selling, using real deals and customer scenarios.
  • Define the behaviors that distinguish a builder-plus-advisor and build programs that develop judgment, presence, and the ability to influence a CxO.
  • Build and ship enablement at scale using Claude Code, vibe coding, and artificial intelligence content pipelines to generate practice scenarios, role-play prompts, coaching content, and personalized learning journeys, then curate them for impact.
  • Design and build artificial intelligence-powered practice environments such as executive role-plays, scenario simulators, and personalized coaching agents for solutions architects.
  • Partner with Field Engineering leadership, the People Team, and enablement peers to embed customer skills into the hiring bar, performance management, and career development.
  • Enable solutions architects and account teams to engage beyond the information technology silo and drive consumption at the CxO level.
  • Establish a leadership feedback loop that identifies field obstacles in discovery, executive conversations, and conversion of technical wins into consumption, then provide actionable recommendations to Field Engineering leaders.
  • Create behavior-changing enablement through workshops, artificial intelligence simulations, peer coaching frameworks, and certification paths.
  • Lead customer executive conversations for approximately 10–15% of the role, including executive business center meetings, CxO briefings, and strategic account reviews.
  • Define and track key performance indicators measuring behavior change, solutions architect confidence, customer engagement quality, deal progression velocity, and consumption growth in enabled accounts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience at a high-growth infrastructure or software-as-a-service company during a scaling inflection point.
  • A technical background with sufficient platform depth to earn credibility with solutions architects and teach influence in the context of real architecture and deals.
  • Experience across both pre-sales and post-sales and the full customer lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or other data and artificial intelligence platforms.
  • Experience running executive engagement or C-level advisory programs.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence to build at scale, including automating content creation, building internal tools, or shipping learning experiences faster.

Databricks provides a unified data and AI platform built around a lakehouse architecture that blends data lakes and data warehouses. It helps organizations ingest, store, manage, and analyze data from various sources, then apply analytics and machine learning at scale. The platform offers automated ETL, secure data sharing, and high-performance analytics, with built-in support for AI workloads and model deployment. Unlike traditional single-purpose data stores, Databricks combines data engineering, data science, and business analytics in one system, aiming to streamline data workflows and make insights readily actionable. Its goal is to enable businesses to manage data more efficiently, accelerate insight generation, and deploy AI and analytics across diverse teams through a subscription-based platform and professional services.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June.
