Requirements
  • Experience with basic biological laboratory techniques.
  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of directly related, full-time experience in a research laboratory is strongly recommended.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, critical thinking skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with external contacts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain human pluripotent stem cells and three-dimensional cerebral organoids for in vitro studies of human cortical development and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Record experiment results using established technical procedures.
  • Prepare materials for analysis and diagnosis.
  • Assist with and perform molecular and phenotypic characterizations and tissue histology.
  • Assist with and perform other related duties and general laboratory tasks as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, especially stem cell and neuronal cultures.
  • Extensive part-time research experience may be considered.
