  • Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) within one year of hire date for Tech I.
  • Current CP Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) for Tech II.
  • One year of work experience in Central Processing for Tech II.
  • Proficient in two or more specialties for Tech II.
  • Current CP Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) for Tech III.
  • One year of work experience in Central Processing for Tech III.
  • Proficient and subject matter expert in all specialties for Tech III.
  • Able to train in all specialties for Tech III.
Responsibilities
  • Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments.
  • Assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack and label surgical instruments.
  • Sterile instruments and equipment.
  • Pull case carts.
  • Clean, troubleshoot and correctly use CP equipment.
  • Perform and record all biological and chemical sterilization tests.
  • Issue and receive durable, moveable clinical equipment.
  • Issue sterile supplies to using areas.
  • Perform inventory duties as required.
  • Verify that all sterilization processes have been completed and met parameters before making equipment available for use.
