The SDET Automation Engineer operates within a highly technical team in WANdisco’s UK office. The role provides an opportunity to work with our cutting edge, patented data migration technology in conjunction with major cloud platforms provided by Amazon, Microsoft and Google. Working in an Agile environment within a team of talented engineers, the successful candidate will expand, execute and maintain an existing user-journeys automation coverage, improve integration tests to help manage the final quality on production releases.This is an interesting and highly challenging opportunity within a growing company and presents a fantastic opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the best talent within the software industry

Responsibilities

Work closely with the UAT team to :
Understand and translate user flows into user-journeys automated testing coverage
Validate and expand an existing end to end testing coverage
Automate the slow/repetitive UAT test cases via user-journeys tests
Execute and maintain user-journeys automated testing coverage
Report on testing results for Master and Release branches

Key Qualifications

Object oriented programming skills in Java or Javascript
Strong fault finding skills
Experience writing test cases to a high standard
Experience in debugging Java applications
Knowledge of Version Control such as Git and/or SVN
Team player who can also work on their own initiative
Good communicators who are willing to learn new skills

Additional Requirements (Optional)

Experience in the Scrum development methodology preferred
Hadoop and Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Experience with Jenkins and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies
Experience of Python, Bash, Groovy

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field, or qualification from an accredited Academy
