Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a minimum of three years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.

  • Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) is preferred.
  • Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) is preferred.
  • Facilities Technician Certification is preferred.
  • Working towards a trade license is preferred.
  • Working towards Building Environment Systems Operation Class 1 is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and providing suggestions for enhancement and repair.
  • Performing work in accordance with established processes and practices.
  • Complying with all internal and external requirements including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Performing regular facility technical and non-technical component monitoring and inspection.
  • Responding to routine service requests and performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Operating facility mechanical, electrical and other systems.
  • Managing the work order life cycle from dispatch through completion and recording resolution data within the service maintenance management database, ensuring work meets quality, contract response and other requirements.
  • Assisting in the implementation of the preventative maintenance program and ensuring deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, with related documents maintained.
  • Assisting in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
  • Recording resolution data within the service maintenance management database and ensuring work completed meets quality, contract response and other requirements.
  • Receiving, tracking, monitoring and reporting status of maintenance and repair work within the service maintenance management database; initiating documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
  • Participating in and assisting with facility-related projects.
  • Ensuring the manner in which work is performed complies with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and other applicable requirements.
  • Maintaining all assigned tools and arranging for repair and replacement as required.
  • Submitting all expenditures in a timely manner.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
