This position requires extensive collaboration and coordination across teams to successfully develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans, uphold related standards, and plan and execute disaster recovery (DR) exercises.
Bachelor’s degree in IT information security, information systems, computer science, accounting, finance, business, information systems, computer science, or a related technical field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.
Four or more years directly-related technical experience in information security, audit, finance, accounting, business continuity or disaster recovery management or information security program compliance support is required.
Technical knowledge of operating systems, databases, networks, and disaster recovery best practices.
Experience conducting business impact analyses and mapping Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and effective presentations.
Ability to identify, escalate, and manage complex technical issues.
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective customer and stakeholder relationships.
Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple enterprise‑level initiatives simultaneously.
Willingness to be available outside normal business hours to support disaster recovery exercises and assist with critical incidents as needed.
Serve as a liaison and support the implementation of the Operational Resilience Risk Oversight plan across all areas of BHE IT, ensuring standardization of IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
Assist in creating Business Impact Analysis (BIA) plan templates and related documentation.
Coordinate BIA activities across affiliates, update Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and Tier classifications. Maintain documentation and review team procedures to confirm backup and recovery requirements for each Tier.
Identify gaps across affiliates and represent IT to drive consistency and standardization.
Lead the development of individual continuity and disaster recovery plans using standardized templates.
Identify deficiencies within business continuity and DR plans and develop roadmaps to close those gaps, advancing alignment across BHE IT.
Lead individual plan creation following standard plan templates
Plan and support the execution of disaster recovery exercises.
Train affiliate personnel on business continuity standards, tools, and processes.
Support audit preparation and participate in audit activities.
Make informed decisions and recommendations related to identified risks.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Lead and manage these responsibilities for one or more BHE US affiliates.
