Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
AM, PM and NOC shift openings!
Summary:
As an LVN, you will oversee daily nursing operations, direct care staff, and ensure quality care for residents in a long-term care facility. You will manage clinical documentation, medication administration, and assist in staff development, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nursing Leadership: Supervise and support nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct staff meetings, performance evaluations, and manage staffing needs.
- Resident Care: Administer medications and treatments as ordered, monitor resident conditions, and ensure proper documentation of care provided. Participate in resident admissions, transfers, discharges, and care planning.
- Charting & Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate resident records, including physician orders, progress notes, and incident reports. Ensure adherence to care plans and communicate any necessary updates.
- Medication & Supply Management: Administer medications, maintain accurate narcotic records, and ensure adequate stock levels of medications and supplies.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Participate in facility audits, surveys, and quality assurance activities. Report and address any discrepancies in care or compliance.
- Staff Development & Training: Support the orientation and ongoing training of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
- Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe work environment, ensuring staff follow safety procedures, including infection control protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, family members, and other departments to provide holistic, coordinated care.
- Additional Duties: Complete required administrative tasks, including incident reports, daily census, and coordinating with the business office on billing and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Valid, unencumbered LVN license in CA.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in long-term care preferred; knowledge of PCC is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs, stand, walk, and assist with emergency evacuations.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Work Environment:
- Frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff.
- Exposure to infectious materials, chemicals, and physical hazards.
