Requirements
- 10+ years of financial services experiences, preferably in advisory platform/asset management sales
- BA/BS in finance, business administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of the advisory business model and financial planning process
- Developed and successfully executed product and go-to-market strategies within the financial services industry
- 10+ years' experience of working with financial advisors, managing a region and achieving sales quotas
- Strong business acumen and exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with clients, colleagues, cross-functional teams as well as third parties
- Agile; able to identify and apply appropriate “win-win” solutions even in new situations
- This is a considered to be a hybrid sales role with travel up to 50%
Responsibilities
- Platform Adoption: The candidate will consult with a wide range of investment advisors at our client firms who provide wealth management to high net worth and mass affluent clients. Through a consultative approach, the candidate will gain a sound understanding of the advisors' business models and will be able to identify opportunities to deliver improved processes, efficiencies and revenue by leveraging the full suite of services available on the Envestnet platform
- Platform Training: The candidate will be the in-field expert on the Envestnet platform including the UMA and PMA programs, and is expected to have deep knowledge of the investment offering (asset allocation models, research process, and manager menu), account management/maintenance, operational processes, and other product offerings and platforms at our client firms
- Promotion and Expansion of unified managed account (UMA) and advisor as portfolio manager (APM) solutions: Help advisors build a more scalable, model-based business through the creation and management of UMA and APM models. Identify opportunities to expand outsourced solutions in advisor practices and help facilitate transitions. This will include partnering with asset management sales teams to drive platform usage and adoption. Growing AUM also involves guiding advisors on case review and analysis, portfolio construction and assisting on closing large opportunities
- Practice Management: Play a critical role in working with advisors to develop best practices as it pertains to their businesses. Drive attendance to sessions delivered by third-party providers, asset managers and Envestnet hosted events. In addition, guide and mentor advisors through various practice management courses
- General Responsibilities: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors and strategic relationships/partnerships. Where appropriate, educate, mentor and share knowledge with the organization's management, internal staff, partners, customers and prospects with regard to the company's distribution strategy, opportunities and challenges. Collaborate with key stakeholders across Envestnet to develop, inform and ensure buy-in of proposed solutions. Participate industry events/conferences and maintain well documented records. Help promote and create awareness of Envestnet across Canada. The Candidate must also have the ability to interface effectively with senior field management, home office partners and clients
- Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested
- As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk
Desired Qualifications
- CFP/CFA designation is a plus
- Bilingual is an asset
- Current relationships with financial advisors in Western Canada
- Live in the Vancouver region preferred (Envestnet does not offer relocation expenses)
