Requirements
  • Associates degree (60 credit hours), additional years of qualifying work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Two years of work experience in health insurance (claims, communications, customer service, sales, public relations, or marketing).
  • Requires superior verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work remotely and independently, as well as to collaborate with members of a team.
  • Must be reliable and adaptive to change and meet deadlines.
  • Requires strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Exercises sound decision-making abilities.
  • Requires working knowledge of virtual platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, Webex, etc. knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires the ability to research and analyze plan documents.
  • Continues to refine sales skills through training and practice.
  • Accepts coaching willingly and has a drive to continually improve their performance.
Responsibilities
  • Drives sales growth by providing one-on-one consultative selling of GEHA medical and dental plans to newly hired or newly eligible federal employees and retirees, exclusively via virtual channels, like video conferencing, phone, chat, and email.
  • Grow GEHA membership by using virtual resources and persuasive presentation skills during one-on-one and group engagement with prospective members.
  • Conduct virtual presentations on behalf of GEHA account managers during Open Season and throughout the year to groups of federal employees on GEHA medical and dental plans. Topics may include new hire benefits and retiree benefits related to Medicare.
  • Via outbound calling, pursues and engages with qualified leads/prospective members obtained through various sales channels.
  • May work in tandem with GEHA account managers to achieve overall sales goals.
  • Embraces, promotes, and implements new Sales, Marketing, and Service initiatives.
  • Engages in other sales-related duties as needed.
  • Upholds GEHA Core Values.
