Requirements
  • The physician must be in good standing as a member of the attending or courtesy Medical Staff of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
  • The physician must have demonstrable experience working within an occupational health, university, academic medical center, or appropriate corporate clinical setting.
  • The physician must obtain or be willing to attain and maintain, within the timeframe set by the Medical Director, certifications required by the Medical Director, including DOT/FMCSA CME, MRO certification, Ohio BWC certified physician, USCIS designated Civil Surgeon, FAA AME, or other certifications required by future service needs.
  • The physician must be eligible for an Ohio license.
  • The physician must qualify for an academic appointment.
  • Clinical faculty must hold a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, doctorate, or other terminal degree in the relevant field.
  • Tenure-track faculty must hold a doctorate, Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in the relevant field of study.
  • Research faculty must hold a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.
Responsibilities
  • Provide medical oversight and care at the Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health and Wellness Clinics in McCampbell Hall.
  • Assist in delivering, overseeing, and supervising medical care for Ohio State employees in support of the service.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other appropriate leadership to provide operational management, financial management, and leadership functions within the service.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support for occupational health-related clinical policies, programs, and outcomes to meet Ohio State and regulatory-agency workforce requirements.
  • Assist clinically and administratively with strategic planning related to departmental scope, services, policy procedures, and performance improvement for Occupational Medicine and Occupational Health and Wellness services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Board certification in Occupational Medicine is highly preferred, or current board certification in another specialty with recent duties dedicated to occupational health or a highly regulated employment field.
