Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, safety, engineering, environmental or related discipline
  • 8 years related experience with 2 years in EHS role in a chemical manufacturing environment or relevant experience
  • Water treatment, pulp/paper, food/beverage, oil/gas, hospitality industries, and waste management experience (preferred)
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, project management and training skills (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • The responsibility of the EHS Specialist is to meet Solenis’ primary goal of providing a safe and sustainable working environment for our employees.
  • Travel to relevant customer locations and field locations to provide support on day-to-day activities
  • Conduct incident investigations to identify causes and corrective actions and observations/audits of personnel, tools, equipment, and work practices to assure safe and proper procedures are being observed.
  • Identify, evaluate, and make recommendations on programs, practices, tools and equipment aimed at reducing or eliminating risk for our teammates.
  • Develop and conduct safety training and presentations for new hires or refresher training.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to ensure compliance with EHS regulations including governmental, state, industry, and Solenis. This includes monitoring and sharing information regarding new regulations.
  • Develop SOPs for routine and non-routine work, compliance with the major regulatory programs and safety contingency plans including RCRA, EPA, Clean Water Act, OSHA & safety contingency plans.
  • Evaluates systems & implements projects to meet the requirements of wastewater and air quality permits.
  • Develop & implement systems & processes to ensure training is timely & effective, incident investigations are timely & complete, audits are regularly scheduled & observations resolved.
  • Experience managing internal/external audits and good working knowledge of EPA, PSM/RMP, MOC, OSHA, NFPA, and/or related regulations.
