Responsibilities
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, acting as a liaison between Agri-Access and clients or third-party investors.
  • Answer client questions via email and phone using high-quality service techniques.
  • Educate partnering institutions and the team on program delivery and processes.
  • Provide reconciliation and servicing process training to clients as needed.
  • Monitor borrower and lessee compliance with loan and lease documents.
  • Work with originators or clients on servicing actions, identifying deficiencies in documentation, changes in title, account status, or borrower status, and develop subject matter expertise on assigned accounts.
  • Prioritize and analyze incoming material service requests requiring credit approval or delegated approval, including changes to payment dates or maturity, payment extensions, releases of collateral or insurance proceeds, consents, easements, substitutions, and releases of liabilities.
  • Complete delegated authorities such as conversions and assist with Risk Asset Unit accounts.
  • Conduct internal and external research on a transactional basis according to the servicing action.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of lending partners' unique document sets and troubleshoot and correct issues or discrepancies.
  • Package and submit requests to credit for approval.
  • Correspond with clients to obtain additional information and relay approval or denial conditions.
  • Prepare documents for directly serviced loans as needed.
  • Review files and close requests when all conditions are met.
  • Create or update loan and lease data in origination and servicing systems.
  • Input, update, gather, and monitor information for requested reporting, including delinquency, rate resets, maturities, and Uniform Commercial Code continuations.
  • Perform accounting procedures related to lender reconciliation, receipts, checks issued, and payoffs.
  • Follow up with team members and clients for outstanding information or campaign data based on report and systems reviews.
  • Monitor and audit borrower verifications and the collection and consistency of information.
  • Process loan and lease requests accurately and promptly, including initial analysis, data entry, interpretation of loan and lease documentation and investor requirements, and transaction closing.
  • Work with originators and investors to ensure proper documentation consistent with credit approval, conditions, and investor requirements.
  • Create processes as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • A basic agricultural background and knowledge of agricultural terminology are preferred.

So should insurers and agricultural lenders offer farmers that look after their soil a ‘good soil discount’?. While it’s generally understood that cover cropping, reduced tillage, and crop rotations benefit soil, these practices are by no means ubiquitous, not least because there are high upfront costs, the benefits don’t come overnight, and there are no immediate financial incentives, says soil health nonprofit Land Core.
