Requirements
  • A business development and/or supply chain management background focused on strategic sales and revenue generation, with broad product competencies and at least 10 years of commercial construction or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong lighting product technical competencies.
  • A thorough understanding of the commercial construction industry and markets, including owners, developers, architects, and key supply chain vendors within the respective region or markets.
  • Technical expertise to differentiate services and value propositions to secure and close business.
  • Leadership skills to build engaging partnerships with team and organizational stakeholders through trust, teamwork, and direct communication.
  • The ability to apply critical business thinking to strategic business planning, operations, and financial performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage core lighting product lines and ensure high penetration within Suffolk Business Unit and Freedom Source accounts, translating product strategy into tactical and achievable milestones.
  • Develop product roadmaps and revenue growth strategies for core product offerings within the business unit and direct accounts, and guide business and risk evaluations of new products in the designated product category.
  • Maintain an understanding of global, national, regional, and local market trends; identify future technical capabilities needed to support and design leading solutions; and share product knowledge and market trends with business units.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key customer accounts and global, national, regional, and local vendors to manage product terms, pricing, and supply commitments.
  • Maintain knowledge of vendor-specific, ad hoc, new, and future product offerings.
  • Manage vendor performance expectations on projects and leverage vendor partnerships to maintain governance agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Freedom Source team on core product sales, solutions, and execution, including sales content creation, solution development, pitch support, and attendance at business unit sales meetings with Preconstruction counterparts.
  • Serve as senior advisor and subject matter expert for Freedom Source core products and as an escalation point for questions.
  • Design and facilitate product-education training.
  • Host and participate in industry events to understand market dynamics and represent the company as an industry leader.
  • Manage the platform team to develop a design framework and acquire product competency to support technical solution designs and technical resources.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with business unit Freedom Source teams, business unit management, and external customers to advocate for and advance Freedom Source participation in projects, and conduct key performance indicator reviews to assess goal progress.
  • Participate in company-wide sourcing and procurement projects to identify sales opportunities, vendor capacity, and related risks.
  • Serve as the business unit escalation contact for compliance, risk, and financial reporting policies and practices related to products, identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks and financial impacts to Freedom Source and Suffolk Construction.
  • Solicit vendor pricing, analyze vendor bids, and prepare bid-analysis spreadsheets.
  • Close vendor contract terms on specified projects and ensure the Supply Chain Product Manager reviews the bid process.
  • Solicit, develop, draft, and route vendor purchase orders and scopes of work.
  • Participate in hiring, onboard direct reports, deliver timely performance feedback, contribute to annual performance appraisals, use talent-management systems, and identify training for development needs.

Suffolk Construction hosts First Responders Night at the Brockton Rox. Suffolk Construction, the City's partner in the Public Safety Building, will host a First Responders Night at the Brockton Rox on Thursday, June 4, at 6 pm. Thanks to Suffolk's sponsorship, tickets are free to all Brockton families. Brockton Beer Company is so excited to highlight the great work and sacrifices of Brockton Police Officers, Fire Fighters, dispatchers, staff, and their families. Gates open at 6:00pm (for family activities); Game starts at 7:00pm. There will be fun for the whole family, including: * A great night of baseball at Campanelli Stadium (Brockton Rox v. Downeast Bird Dawgs) * Touch-a-Truck for little ones * Prizes and giveaways for kids and adults * 50/50 raffle * Opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game!
