Summary:

Under minimal supervision, calibrates a large variety of electronic test equipment to manufacturer’s specifications or test procedure, sets up test equipment, takes measurements. You will calibrate the following equipment; insulation testers, multi-meters, electrical testers, power supplies, counter timers, oscilloscopes, function generators etc. You will be responsible for performing calibration activities of measuring instrumentation to traceable standards. Prepares calibration documentation in accordance with standards.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and adjusting electronic instruments to ensure correct operation within manufacturers’ specifications
• Maintain calibration records, certificates, and documentation
• Customer-focused position, providing timely updates on calibration activities to the Calibration Manager
• Ensure all Health and safety practices are followed, and any new issues are raised, during any work activities. Write or assist with the completion and review of work-related Risk Assessments and adhere to them.
• Support internal and external Quality Audits
• Able to perform basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office, Emails, Intranet use
• Understand and comply with quality and calibration procedures relevant to tasks undertaken
• Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
• Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

· Four years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.

·Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation; work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations; apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations.
