  • Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentialing is required.
  • At least one year of experience within long-term care or healthcare settings is required.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university or college is required, with coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics-accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, foodservice corporation, or as part of undergraduate or graduate studies is required.
  • Passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
  • Required state licensure or certification to practice dietetics must be obtained and maintained where applicable.
  • Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and applicable state licensure or certification must be maintained.
  • Professional continuing education must be maintained annually.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines is required.
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, operational excellence, performance management, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, project management, collaboration, business acumen, and presentation skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate clinical nutrition practice and staff operations for assigned regional accounts.
  • Participate in clinical nutrition activities, including malnutrition screening, individual clinical nutrition assessment using standardized nutrition-focused physical examination protocols, identifying residents at nutritional risk, recommending or implementing nutritional interventions, follow-up care, documentation, discharge recommendations, and resident or caregiver education.
  • Complete and document scheduled Minimum Data Set 3.0 Resident Assessment Instrument assessments.
  • Apply knowledge of the Patient-driven Payment Model and identify residents at risk for malnutrition, obesity, and enteral or parenteral care needs.
  • Execute audits and follow established standards and goals for Clinical Nutrition as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.
  • Use equipment, resources, and programs to provide efficient, high-quality care.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of Nutrition Care Supervisors, Dining Services staff, dietetic interns, and students where applicable, and support their professional development through education, follow-up, and corrective action.
  • Participate in the budget process as applicable.
  • Develop and implement nutrition and wellness activities appropriate to the resident population.
  • Establish effective working relationships with facility departments to provide a unified approach to resident care.
  • Develop, implement, and document in-service education programs for nursing, dining services, nutrition care, dietetic interns, students, and interdisciplinary personnel.
  • Maintain systems and training programs that provide a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Health, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other applicable regulations and codes.
  • Maintain compliance with company operating standards and client contracts.
  • Assist with interviewing and onboarding staff as applicable.
  • Travel throughout Indiana, mainly to North Manchester, Fort Wayne, and Goshen, with mileage reimbursement for work travel.
Desired Qualifications
  • Point Click Care electronic medical record and Meal Tracker diet/menu platform experience is preferred.
  • Current ServSafe certification is preferred, or certification/re-certification must be completed within 60 days of employment.
