Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or above
  • Hands-on experience with assembly and use of hardware and small to medium size tool and precision mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with taking a product from design to manufacturing and working with vendors to fabricate the parts to the specifications and manage deviations
  • Advanced CAD skills
  • Knowledge of welding of components for efficient joining to support a reliable, geometrically precise and economically viable structure
  • Able to communicate effectively in a team and a fast-paced environment, making well-informed decisions
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
  • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
Responsibilities
  • Assist in development of optimized components that meet the requirements and are economical to produce with an acceptable lead time
  • Support procurement in the preparation and execution of the manufacturing contracts
  • Lead and participate in prototyping and testing activities to validate requirements/assumptions and provide guidelines based on tests
  • Develop design notes, technical specifications, and documentation necessary to fabricate and install the parts
  • Play an active role in disposition of any NCR’s and tracking of the materials through various stages of receivership, inspection, staging, preassembly, and final assembly
  • Develop assembly and work instructions (work packages)
  • Participate in supervision of subassembly and final assembly of the PFC components inside the Vessel
