  • 10+ years of experience in HR, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing HR professionals.
  • A proven track record of partnering with and driving the success of teams across both business strategy and frontline operations, including Sales, Customer Service, and Business Development, in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Strategic thinking that’s bold and innovative, combined with the humility to listen and adapt. You know how to influence senior leaders and drive change that’s aligned with our values.
  • Exceptional partnership skills – from C-level leaders to frontline managers – building trust, delivering feedback, and facilitating discussions at all levels come naturally to you.
  • Deep expertise in HR practices, including performance management, employee relations, organizational development, and change management.
  • A data-driven mindset with a passion for turning insights into action. You’re always looking for ways to improve and aren’t afraid to ask tough questions.
  • A commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where everyone can feel they belong.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, particularly the CCO and the CCO leadership team. You’ll bring your knowledge of functions like Sales, Customer Service, Business Development and other operational and frontline teams to the table, advising at the intersection of business and talent strategy and influencing key decisions related to team health, performance, organizational design and workforce planning.
  • You’ll be a part of a team of business-oriented HRBPs who are committed to making a real impact. Your leadership style should foster a culture of ownership, where everyone feels empowered to take charge of their work. You’ll encourage open, honest feedback—because that’s how we grow—and you won’t shy away from pushing the team to reach new heights.
  • You’ll oversee the execution of HR programs that are tailored to Thumbtack’s unique needs, ensuring our HR programs are not just implemented, but executed with excellence.
  • Data is your friend. You’ll guide your team in turning numbers into insights, and those insights into actions that make a difference. Focusing on scalability and impact, you’ll make sure we’re always refining and optimizing our strategies.
  • You’ll be a champion for Thumbtack’s culture, ensuring our values aren't just talked about, but lived every day. Lead by example and make sure your team does the same with their client groups.
  • Change is constant, and you’ll be the one helping your team navigate it smoothly. You will drive and lead other HRBPs in managing complex organizational changes, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and support for employees.
  • You’ll work hand-in-hand with others on the People Team to create and execute strategies that make Thumbtack a place where people want to work. You’ll partner with teams like Recruiting, DEI, OD, and Total Rewards, to develop and implement integrated People strategies that support Thumbtack’s business objectives with a people-first approach.

Thumbtack connects consumers with local professionals for various services through an online marketplace. Users can find professionals like plumbers, electricians, and landscapers by searching the platform, comparing prices, reading reviews, and booking services directly. The platform offers cost estimates based on numerous bids from professionals, helping consumers understand potential service costs. Thumbtack generates revenue by charging professionals for leads, which are inquiries made by customers through the site, regardless of whether the job is secured. This approach makes Thumbtack a convenient option for consumers seeking local services while providing professionals with a way to connect with potential clients.
