  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • 5 or more years of industrial engineering experience, preferably within a distribution center setting
Responsibilities
  • Manages and implements various productivity improvements, training programs, and engineering initiatives to help drive efficiency and service within the business.
  • Identify and implement change within the operation through Data Analytics, CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, capacity, delivery, and cost.
  • Partners with enterprise leaders to define and plan various business applications such as: enterprise strategic initiatives, product flow optimization, best practice process improvement, material handling and process automation.
  • Researches automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning DC layouts to optimize Distribution Processes. Stays abreast of the latest technology in warehousing and evaluates material handling equipment requirements as needed. Works with vendors to identify operational equipment and automation solutions.
  • Executes engineering projects with precision, defining scopes, timelines, and tracking performance metrics to ensure success. Develops project scopes, specifications and estimates and ensure proper change management on assigned projects.
  • Partners and supports internal stakeholders to optimize product flow across all Distribution Operations.
  • Provides engineering support, often collaborating with cross-functional areas, and helps achieve KPI’s and objectives; develops and manages project plans for major operational improvement activities.
  • Develops workflow models using theory of constraints. Determines the most efficient sequence of operations/workflow. Recommend methods for maximum asset utilization of Distribution facilities, equipment and personnel.
  • Develops, validates, and maintains time-studied standards; analyze and develop engineered standards utilizing time and motion studies, statistical analysis and manpower planning tools to improve productivity and service level. Adjust and revitalize standards, procedures, and layouts as needed to reflect changes in policy or procedure or process.
  • Applies engineering methodologies/tools such as product slotting, studying labor standards (time studies), layouts and optimization of flow, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve distribution and/or transportation operations.
  • Develops improved methods, including evaluating new processes and/or procedures, and the most efficient means of utilizing floor space and time, develop layout to scale using AutoCad or other relevant software.
  • Identifies facility design requirements based on activity levels, product dimensional profiles, product flow and transportation methods.
  • Performs value stream mapping, process improvements and standardization across multiple sites. Identifies bottlenecks and improves flow; analyzes inbound, outbound and inventory operations to create and maintain optimum warehouse operations.
  • Determines metrics and creates comprehensive dashboards to monitor progress and effectively communicate with leadership through data collection and analysis.
  • Analyzes product inputs and capacity models to perform capacity planning; constructs and/or updates capacity models from product, process, equipment and labor data.
  • Effectively leverages data analytics, engineering methodologies, and core Lean tools to enable root cause identification and elimination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Multi site experience strongly preferred
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Manufacturing Design Experience preferred
  • Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types such as racking and other storage solution designs, conveyor and sortation equipment; and other automation solutions (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems).
  • Experience in core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Industrial Engineering, warehouse types, warehouse layout/ design and Lean methods.
  • Experience and ability to Mine and organize data from multiple systems for data analysis including SQL/queries from other databases, Alteryx or other relational databases or relevant experience.
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and have a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills related to interpreting trend charts, calculation tables, and system related properties.
  • Strong computer skills including report writing and completion of inspection forms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in an efficient manner.
  • Budget - Provide budgeting information to Management and also maintain and track budgeting for projects providing reporting as needed.
  • Self Management - Ability to manage schedule and workload.
  • Provide management at all levels consultation, reporting, and recommendations, on system health, improvements, and operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret written communications and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Must possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Business Acumen - intuitive and applicable understanding of the financial, profitability and cash drivers, external environment, and the “big picture” of the business to enable good, quick business decisions.

23,000 products sold under Sysco, Gordon FS recalled for plastic risk. Greenville News Feb. 18, 2026, 3:43 p.m. ET * Ventura Foods is recalling over 23,000 peanut butter products across 41 states due to possible plastic contamination. * The recall affects single-serve creamy peanut butter and twin packs with jelly sold under brands like Sysco and Gordon Food Service. * The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating a risk of temporary or medically reversible health issues. * Consumers are advised to check lot codes and either discard the products or return them to the supplier. More than 23,000 peanut butter products sold in South Carolina and 39 other states are being recalled for possible plastic contamination. The affected products were produced by Ventura Foods and sold under multiple brands, according to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration notice. The recall was initiated in April 2025 after blue plastic was found in a filter during production, but the FDA classified it as a Class II recall Feb. 12. The classifications mean use of or exposure to a recalled product could cause "temporary or medically reversible" adverse health effects, according to the agency. Here's what South Carolina shoppers should know about the recall. What products are being recalled? The following peanut butter products were named in the recall: * Creamy peanut butter packets in 0.5-ounce cups, 0.75-ounce cups and 1.12-ounce packs * Twin packs combining creamy peanut butter and strawberry jam in 1.12-ounce cups and 1-ounce cups * Twin packs combining creamy peanut butter and grape jelly in 1.12-ounce and 1-ounce cups According to the FDA notice, the affected products were sold by brands such as US Foods, DYMA Brands, Sysco House Recipes, and Gordon Food Service. What should I do if I have a recalled product? * Check labels: Look for specific brands and single-serve packaging (0.5-1.12 ounces). * Verify lot codes: Use the FDA Enforcement Report to match lot codes and expiration dates. * Discard or return: Do not consume the affected products. Institutions should segregate stock and contact their supplier for disposal instructions. Peanut butter recall: health risk. Gordon Food service donates truck to ECTC's diesel program. Gordon Food Services recently donated a 2016 Volvo Day cab truck to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College's diesel technology program. This makes the second semi-truck donated by GFS and joins previous donations of a tow dolly and two trailers, a news release from the college said. "With this donation, our students can train on industry-specific equipment," Diesel Program Coordinator Joe Valora said in the release. "The support from Gordon Food Services means students will have the skills and training to be workforce-ready from day one." Valora noted that the college's partnership with GFS goes back more than a decade. "The relationships we have with all of our industry partners are valuable and a large part of why our program is so successful," Valora said in the release. "They take an active interest in what our students are working on, and when they see a need, they help fulfill it." The relationship is mutually beneficial, GFS Fleet Manager Bob Favour said. "It's a pleasure for us to partner with ECTC in any way we can," Favour said in the release. "Doing so directly helps us build a strong pipeline of skilled technicians for our operations.
