Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, market, innovate, and implement projects, programs, and policies to improve alternative transportation programs, operational efficiencies, and customer experience enhancements with the specific goal of reducing the number of vehicles on campus in partnership with the Office of Sustainability, RSMAS, and Medical Campuses.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with campus event liaisons, the Parking and Transportation Advisory Board, Student Government, Facilities Operations and Planning units, Student Affairs, Faculty Senate, Human Resources, University of Miami Police Department, Miami Parking Authority, the City of Coral Gables Parking Department, the City of South Miami Parking Department, and other state, university, and community agencies to develop and implement recommendations related to parking and events management procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align departmental goals with the University’s objectives.
  • Continuously assess and improve internal controls and compliance measures.
  • Chair and administer the appeals process, using two faculty members and two students to review and adjudicate submitted appeals in a timely manner.
  • Provide training and resources for appeals committee members to enable autonomous and unbiased decisions that serve the University’s mission.
  • Manage and maintain transportation services, including shuttle services, mobility services, and event services.
  • Oversee multimodal transportation programs such as U-Bike, rideshare contracts, Zipcar, carpool, safe ride, and transit programs.
  • Coordinate transportation for on-campus university programs and emergency events.
  • Engage with the University community to promote alternative transportation options and reduce the number of vehicles on campus.
  • Organize and conduct post-event debriefs for prestigious, large-audience, and complex events.
  • Conduct event site inspections for operational efficiency, service quality and standards, attendee and client satisfaction, provide on-site support, and reinforce DIRECCT values and behavior.
  • Manage, forecast, and report monthly on the Event Services budget; provide strategic recommendations for efficiency and proactively seek new revenue opportunities.
  • Serve as Essential Personnel Tier 1.
  • Oversee customer experience programs and service delivery platforms, including Salesforce case management workflows, service analytics, process improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and customer-facing technologies.
  • Provide direct customer service to faculty, staff, students, visitors, vendors, and contractors regarding campus valet service, event parking, and traffic management; respond timely to correspondence and maintain a customer-centric focus on client needs.
  • Oversee event parking and traffic control for multiple concurrent events and construction-related parking displacement, plan staff allocation, and engage the University of Miami and Coral Gables police as needed.
  • Represent the department in university governance groups, advisory committees, stakeholder working groups, and cross-functional initiatives involving students, faculty, staff, and executive leadership.
  • Serve as the department’s internal quality control consultant and execute an effective audit process to protect university assets through internal controls.
  • Oversee development and management of the annual operating budget.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and optimize existing resources.
  • Oversee management of all parking facilities and transportation services.
  • Oversee revenue management strategies, financial controls, invoice review processes, budget forecasting, and business operations to maximize operational effectiveness and fiscal stewardship.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Lead initiatives to promote sustainable transportation options.
  • Implement innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of transportation services.
  • Adhere to department standard operating procedures and University policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and University regulations.
  • Manage all direct reports; coach, teach, develop, and provide feedback through annual appraisals, monthly team meetings, and monthly one-on-one meetings.
  • Conduct all hiring tasks, including necessary discipline and termination procedures.
  • Lead technology strategy and implementation for Parking and Transportation systems, including parking management platforms, customer relationship management systems, payment technologies, analytics tools, mobility applications, and emerging artificial intelligence-enabled solutions.
  • Work with Facilities and Operations leadership to manage and maintain facilities, assets, equipment, shuttle stops, and other parking-related infrastructure.
  • Ensure Parking and Transportation team members and student employees understand policies and procedures and that all data entry is complete and accurate.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, contract administration, service-level performance, procurement coordination, invoicing oversight, and implementation of third-party transportation and technology services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • CAPP or CPP certification is preferred.
