Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or direct and applicable work experience (preferred STEM or quantitative discipline (e.g. finance, accounting)
  • Minimum 4 years' experience to include managing projects in a data warehouse environment; experience in business and technical systems analysis, including demonstrated experience eliciting detailed business requirements and testing solutions (such as test cases, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking); and experience effectively leading multi-functional (business and technical) teams to deliver business results
  • Leadership skills typically gained through a combination of project or informal leadership that demonstrates competencies
  • Proven track record of delivering projects that meet quality, time, and budget requirements. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various project methodologies
  • Proven analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations for alternative solutions
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to consult with stakeholders and effectively influence decisions at all levels of the organization
  • Competent at assessing the accuracy, validity, and integrity of data
Responsibilities
  • As a Team Leader in Data Governance, you will lead project teams of data governance professionals to support enterprise business analytics and internal reporting. Your oversight will include ensuring data quality during the build out of data warehouse assets through consultative project and initiative involvement, and stakeholder management, with the goal of creating strategic superiority in the market. You will establish, lead, and maintain effective data stewardship and execution of key data quality steps within the Software Development Lifecycle process and internal data governance processes. As a key success expectation for leaders at Wellmark, you will also mentor and develop team members and other analytics leaders on business practices and technical issues
  • Ideal candidates have a demonstrated history of identifying opportunities and delivering business value via data governance. You are a champion of data governance, data quality, and stewardship adoption, and have the ability to influence adoption, across the organization. You possess a deep understanding of data warehousing, SDLC, and analytic tools, which you will utilize on a daily basis.
