Who we are looking for 

Highly skilled and motivated engineer to participate in one or more Charles River IMS modules or components of an Agile scrum team. Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River.  

Why this role is important to us 

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha that was launched in 2019. 

As a Technical Team Lead level , you will:

• Will be leading a team of 10-15 Developers and providing technical guidance and be responsible for
• Will be responsible for architecture, standards, and design of key product initiatives for applications in Java services
• Monitor progress and manage the projects
• Act as Scrum Master for the Projects
• Liaison with other teams and QA organization.
• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced Agile scrum team environment

Education and preferred qualifications:

• Should have prior experience in managing teams of comparable size.
• Should have experience working with Product teams in analyzing the requirements and translating them to technical stories/JIRAs
• 10+ years of professional software development
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Knowledgeable of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions
• Must have experience in cloud native application development.  Preferably exposure to Kafka, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Angular, JavaScript and Java.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, team player
• Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector (Math background desirable, not required)

Additional requirements

• Ability to play a key role in developing and supporting commercial software products which were sold to non-technical customers in vertical markets
• Knowledge of XML/XSL
• Experience with Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, or WebSphere
• Develop test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRD’s business
• Solid grasp or algorithms, ability to solve complex heuristic/optimization types of problems
• 4 to 7 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR or Wealth Management is strongly desired
