What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to join SentinelOne’s DataSet team. DataSet (formerly Scalyr) is a log monitoring solution, which is building new observability products. This team will be responsible for building and maintaining various observability applications.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for being a key technical lead for building observability products. Play a key role in defining the tech strategy, architecture, and development procedures. You will interact with peer engineering tech leads and architects, product management, sales, and marketing.

What You’ll Do:

Design, architect and be part of hands-on implementation of observability applications that delight our customers
Define, evangelize, and maintain the strategy and vision for observability applications within the SentinelOne
Establish and follow technical best practices
Help recruit and mentor team members
Engage cross-functionally with customers, partners, product groups, sales engineering, and solution architects to deliver best-in-class product solutions

What You’ll Need:

Extensive hands-on development experience, ideally having been part of implementing open source or commercial log monitoring, metrics or distributed tracing applications (such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
Expert-level understanding of the log monitoring and observability space
Ability to take nebulous requirements and break down into actionable technical work for team
Programming experience in JavaScript/React, Golang, Java or Rust
5+ years experience building SaaS solutions using public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and GCP; ideal candidate has experience with both
Action-oriented mindset with a proven track record of balancing the delivery of long-term goals and short-term objectives
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to properly translate and articulate positioning and requirements
Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams and team members in different time zones
