Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management of Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working as a Business Architect.
  • A minimum of five years of experience partnering and leading engagements with business areas and working with them to understand current capabilities and assess gaps that will provide input to future strategy; this includes experience leading the development and maintenance of business capability models, leading business capability assessments, and developing business capability roadmaps to ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Excellent analysis and consultancy skills to include problem solving, data analysis, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and skills in building and maintaining relationships with senior leaders.
  • Strong experience with Business Architecture frameworks (i.e., BIZBOK, TOGAF).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to be viewed as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
  • Self-starter mentality.
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly and refine/prioritize as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Administers the maintenance, validation, and governance of the enterprise Business Capability Model.
  • Maintains the repository for the Business Capability Model.
  • Leads the annual Business Capability Model update, including designing and facilitating workshops with leaders.
  • Advises key stakeholders in Business Capability Model deployment.
  • Supports the creation and governance of complimentary Business Architecture artifacts, accelerating strategy to execution.
  • Guides leaders to understand future business capability needs relative to corporate strategy.
  • Assesses capability maturity gaps and creates illustrative 3-year roadmap.
  • Develops aligned findings and recommendations to inform prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Develops and maintains a 3-year view of the Business Capability Roadmap.
  • Leads engagements with business areas for project planning support resulting in operating plans that align to strategy.
  • Provides ongoing support to business areas, supplying a unified capability maturity view and common language across the enterprise to support collaboration and decision-making.
  • Champions the Business Capability Model, building tools to drive adoption across the enterprise.
  • Provides comprehensive Business Architecture consultation to business and IT stakeholders.
  • Works closely with business partners to assess technologies, processes, and information/data.
  • Applies modeling techniques to illustrate business capability-to-technology alignment.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders to ensure expectations are understood and met.
  • Plays an active role in helping promote Business Architecture standard methodology.
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures consistency amongst Business Architecture artifacts.
  • Understands the meanings and relationships between various Business Architecture artifacts.
  • Develops and delivers presentations to audiences at all levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management of Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working with strategic planning processes.
  • Experience working with architecture modeling tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Certified Business Architecture certification.
