About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior kdb+ Developer for a leading data solutions provider specializing in financial services. The focus of this role is to lead the design and implementation of high-performance kdb+ architectures, ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned kdb+ professional with proven leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver impactful solutions in fast-paced, data-driven financial settings.

Location requirement: This role is hybrid, open only to candidates based in Mumbai or Bangalore. Occasional trips to the office will be required, though no fixed on-site schedule is currently in place.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading technical delivery on client projects, setting the standard for quality and performance
Designing and implementing robust kdb+ architectures that handle billions of rows of time-series data
Collaborating with quants, traders, and analysts to translate business needs into performant, efficient code
Mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
Owning the full development lifecycle — developing, testing, supporting, and maintaining code for client applications
Driving innovation by staying ahead of the curve in kdb+, q, and adjacent technologies

Must-Have Skills

5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development, with deep expertise in q and time-series data
Proven experience in designing and scaling kdb+ systems in production
Strong background in Unix/Linux environments and scripting
Demonstrated technical leadership and decision-making in fast-paced projects
Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in capital markets or investment banking, with an understanding of its demands
A passion for clean, performant code and continuous improvement
Must be based in Mumbai or Bangalore.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Python and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Familiarity with other time-series databases
Exposure to tick data, real-time analytics, or electronic trading systems
Prior team leadership or people management experience
