Requirements
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
  • Fellowship training in Hand Surgery through an orthopedic or plastic surgery-based program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing state.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Advanced surgical expertise in hand and upper-extremity procedures.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat disorders of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity.
  • Perform elective and emergent surgical procedures within the scope of hand surgery.
  • Manage traumatic injuries, including fractures and tendon, nerve, and soft tissue injuries.
  • Provide non-operative care such as injections, splinting, and rehabilitation planning.
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and test results.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in call coverage for hand and upper-extremity trauma as required.
  • Collaborate with therapists, advanced practice providers, and referring physicians.
  • Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatment options, and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical education activities.
