Requirements
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to follow food hygiene policy requirements.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs, including breakfast shifts beginning at 06:30.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned duties.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Adequate transportation to arrive on shift on time.
Responsibilities
  • Provide a multifunctional Front of House, bar, food and beverage, and housekeeping service where applicable.
  • Handle telephone, online, and email enquiries and room reservations.
  • Greet and welcome guests and maintain a pleasant reception atmosphere.
  • Provide counter and table service and maintain knowledge of food and beverage menu items.
  • Build high-quality guest relationships, anticipate guest needs, and handle unresolved complaints.
  • Promote the hotel's ALL loyalty program and convey the hotel image.
  • Organise and supervise guest arrivals and departures for the team.
  • Supervise reservations, perform checks according to hotel best practice, and liaise with Central Reservations.
  • Keep guest documentation and information available and up to date.
  • Apply pricing policy and internal audit procedures.
  • Pass information to other departments and department members as necessary.
  • Monitor service standards using guest comments and quality audits.
  • Drive the team toward departmental quantity targets and develop employee motivation and team spirit.
  • Participate in recruitment, integrate and train employees, and support skills development.
  • Ensure employees meet presentation, uniform, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Account for all reception monies, including float and payments, and make them available for collection and inspection.
  • Maintain guest and hotel security and report suspicious activity to the manager.
  • Follow health and safety and fire evacuation procedures, assist with evacuations, call emergency services, and check guest safety during emergencies.
  • Maintain communication with the kitchen regarding orders and promotions.
  • Set up and stock the designated bar to the required standard where applicable.
  • Operate tills and follow security procedures.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.
  • Assist management with the departmental cleaning program.
  • Report shift problems to the Hotel General Manager or senior person on duty.
  • Assist Front Desk operations and report operational problems.
  • Attend required company training and complete reasonable management requests.
  • Take responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of staff, guests, visitors, and oneself.
  • Comply with company COVID-19 procedures and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
