Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field is required.
  • Five or more years of network automation experience are required.
  • Strong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and packaging, are required.
  • Deep networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, and Border Gateway Protocol, are required.
  • Hands-on experience with Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, or Scrapli is required.
  • Experience with modern network APIs, including NETCONF, RESTCONF, and gNMI, is required.
  • Strong experience with Ansible and Jinja2 templating for network automation is required.
  • Familiarity with NetBox, Nautobot, or other source-of-truth platforms is required.
  • Strong Git-based workflows and continuous integration and continuous delivery experience are required.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Automate network configuration, change management, and observability across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
  • Build production-grade automation using modern network APIs, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
  • Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Conduct code reviews and design reviews.
  • Mentor more junior engineers.
  • Ship meaningful work that performs reliably in production.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cisco DevNet or vendor automation certifications.
  • Experience with multi-vendor networks, including Cisco, Arista, and Juniper.
  • Familiarity with streaming telemetry and modern observability stacks.
  • Open-source contributions to network automation projects.
  • Experience with cloud networking automation in addition to on-premises networking.
