Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of experience in industrial or electrical sales or service, or sales support, focused on equipment repair services for engines, generator sets, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • A customer service mindset and understanding of the sales process, especially for commercial engine and generator-set repairs, are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access, and CRM software is required.
  • Time-management and organizational skills are required to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and apply business mathematics and profit calculations in sales quotes and repair estimates is required.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required, including no more than two minor violations within the past three years and no major violations within the past five years.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple interruptions and tight deadlines is required.
  • Ability to research technical aspects of engine repairs and prepare comprehensive quotes accurately is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Support Sales Representatives, the Preventative Maintenance Team, the Service Team, and Department Managers to develop quotes that achieve optimum profit levels for quoted repair jobs involving commercial engines, including marine, industrial, and generator sets.
  • Work with Field Service Supervisors to ensure that each job quote considers technician safety and complies with industry standards.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries, consulting Sales Administrators, Project Engineers, Technical Communicators, and Project Managers as needed.
  • Review and update customer, machine, contract, assigned sales representative, and other relevant information in CRM software.
  • Communicate leads promptly to the appropriate sales representative and enter them accurately into CRM software.
  • Research the technical aspects of repair jobs and work with Service Technicians, Project Engineers, and Technical Support staff to develop comprehensive repair quotes for marine, industrial, and generator engines.
  • Assist with selling Extended Warranty Agreements related to engine repairs.
  • Upsell parts and services by reviewing service histories and identifying opportunities to present to Product Support Sales Representatives.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Sales and Service teams as required.
  • Maintain accurate records in Excel and Access for sales-related activities and engine service data.
  • Perform additional administrative and inside-sales tasks as needed to help the team meet its goals and objectives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous technician or engineering experience is preferred.
  • A two- or four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited college is preferred.
