About Numeric
The world of finance largely uses software from the early 2000s. We’re taking a first-principles re-think of how businesses manage their financial data — incorporating AI, modern design practices, and database structures that are flexible, powerful, and built to integrate with the rest of company’s tech stack.
We’ve started with a suite of products that helps accounting teams streamline and automate their month-end close, and we’re growing fast.
We are well funded and backed by great investors, including Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, Long Journey Ventures, and many founders and CFOs. We have amazing customers, such as Plaid, Wealthfront, AngeList, Heap, Masterworks, and Public.com (and hundreds of others).
About The Role
Our customers love us + we’ve seen early signals that hosting events and building a community can be a powerful growth channel for our market. So we’re looking for a natural community builder, creative thinker, and events mastermind to join our growing team.
In this role, you’ll own Numeric’s events and community channel — setting the vision and owning the execution that positions Numeric as the brand Controllers (leaders of accounting teams) love and learn from. In this role:
You’ll set KPIs and own the strategy for Numeric’s events & community initiatives.
You’ll build upon existing momentum for intimate events like customer and prospect dinners, turning these adhoc initiatives into a focused program.
You’ll own and scale our budding webinar program (our most recent webinar was with the Controller at OpenAI on How Accountants Can Use AI).
You’ll identify ways that Numeric can both build upon our base of raving fans & increase word of mouth with community initiatives.
You’ll partner closely with our sales team and outbound marketing motion to determine when events are a high-leverage play to include in the sales cycle and accelerate pipeline velocity.
You’ll own our conference strategy, collaborating with our partnerships, sales, and content folks to make the most of a few key conferences each year.
As our first dedicated events & community hire, you’ll play a large role in determining the future of how our brand feels and our overall marketing approach. If successful, you’ll prove out tangible, quantitative value of events and community by generating and accelerating millions of dollars of pipeline, building the business case for increasingly larger and larger investments in the channel.
About You
You have 4+ years of experience in marketing, ideally across community, events, customer marketing, or social media marketing. That being said, we believe that the skillset needed for this role is possible to build in other functions, so if everything else here fits & excites you, apply and share that context.
You’re creative. Ideas just come to you. Brainstorming is your favorite activity and you love thinking about new, compelling ways to convey a message, bring people together, or present otherwise stale information.
You love bringing people together. You’re a people person and gravitate towards roles where you need to collaborate and interact with others. You’re charismatic and that shines through in writing as well.
You love getting into the weeds. Accounting is a jargon-filled land that you’ll need to navigate in your role (with the rest of our team’s help, of course). You’re excited about picking up a new language / context and are confident in how quickly you can get up to speed.
You’re a builder. You get excited about the idea of starting from the ground-up and building a strong foundation for years to come. You’re happiest pulling together new programs, initiatives, and ideas for the first time.
You’re excited about joining an early stage start-up — understanding that you’ll need to be fairly independent and that things will break more often than at larger companies.
Bonus Points:
You have experience with design tools like Canva and Figma and have a knack for making things look great.
You’ve worked in the accounting, finance, or developer tech space previously.
How we work at Numeric
🔍 We believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts. This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive.
🏢 We are an in-person company. We believe that when things are moving quickly, working in-person is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it’s more fun this way 😊
🐎 We move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing.
💜 We deeply care about this company. We care about the product we’re building, our customer base, and each other.
🧾 We’re genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined). While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers.
Marketing at Numeric
⏩ We treat marketing like product development. Our team organizes around 2-week sprints where we prioritize what work is of the highest impact and break projects down into smaller milestones. We “ship” our work quickly and want to keep our “user” (or audience) always front and center.
📖 We care about inputs. From setting up conversations with users, constantly stay on top of accounting news and trends, and putting into practice constant learning across areas of marketing, we aim for a strong “information diet” that strengthens work across our team.
🤝 We love our sales team. Really. We hop on sales calls and listen to new calls every week, we attend occasional pipeline reviews, and play a large role in sales onboarding. Our focus is on being a fully aligned GTM team and we hire folks across sales & marketing that are excited about working in far closer proximity than any other company.
✨ We take (informed) leaps. We know that in the realm of marketing, if you’re doing it right, not everything works as planned. We aim to be ambitious, creative, and understand that ~50% of what we do will fall flat.

😄 And, important to note, we take business building seriously. But we aim to never take ourselves too seriously & laugh a lot.
