Requirements
  • Strong experience developing native applications for macOS and familiarity with modern features of the language (Swift, Objective-C)
  • Understanding of Cocoa design patterns and protocol-oriented programming
  • SQL/SQLite or related database experience
  • Good understanding and experience with complex concurrency management using OperationQueue and Grand Central Dispatch
  • Proficiency with AppKit, Foundation, Core Graphics, Core Animation, and other relevant frameworks
  • Proven understanding of underlying technologies in macOS and familiarity with the command line, preferably with experience administering macOS computers using shell scripts, etc
  • Experience working in an Agile software development team using continuous integration and deployment practices
  • Hands-on coding skills and adept with developing agents and background services, as well as traditional applications
  • Understanding of secure coding practices
  • Ability to differentiate between macOS and other Apple platforms, such as iOS, and has a deep understanding of technologies specific to macOS
Responsibilities
  • Contribute code for new features
  • Resolve issues and implement appropriate fixes
  • Become an authority on the macOS agent
  • Research and plan for new products or features
  • Craft and develop software for deployment on macOS systems
  • Build and collaborate on features from design to delivery
  • Collaborate and partner closely with engineering counterparts on other devices and platforms to ensure consistent architecture and product alignment
  • Establish outstanding practices by writing modularized code that is testable, performant, and easy to maintain
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using BSD libraries and other low-level macOS technologies
  • Knowledge of System and Network extension technologies
  • Background in the Security space
  • Experience with C++ developing macOS and/or UNIX applications
  • Swift Tools and framework experience for macOS
  • Mac Admin Experience with handling a large fleet of Apple devices in an Enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with authentication protocols in the macOS enterprise system (e.g. enterprise connect)
