Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Reinsurance required.
  • Reinsurance designation preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills.
  • Requires a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must have a sense of urgency for execution.
  • Ability to work independently in deriving solutions to new business problems. Comfortable and competent in client interaction settings.
  • Ability to take ownership of Claims analyses.
  • Ability to grasp analytic concepts and learn new tools and logic within established processes.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel. Knowledge of TIRS preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees Assumed Accounts involving claim and account level issues.
  • Analyzes and processes reinsurance claims in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts day-to-day assessment of company's reinsurance claims and validates them for payment.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records of claims activity and findings in the claims management system.
  • Ensures that all Assumed Reinsurance claims/payments (including Legacy) are processed in TIRS.
  • Evaluates claim submissions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Develops relationships and collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders, including reinsurers, brokers, and clients, to gather necessary documentation.
  • Provides input into the development and implementation of best practices for claims handling and reporting.
  • Supports senior claims staff in managing claims files and documentation.
  • Provides insights and recommendations based on claim trends and analyses to improve processes.
  • Creates and prepares reports for management, summarizing claim activity and highlighting significant issues.
  • Maintains accurate data of payments, reserves, scanned documents, new mail, etc.
  • Analyzes and produces reports highlighting large losses, coverage, and critical issues for review.
  • Alerts Management of significant loss development activity.
  • Actively participates in department-wide projects as required.
  • Shares information and analyses with Senior Management to determine potential impact on initiatives.
