Requirements
  • A college or university degree in a related field is required.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through less than two years of work experience in a related job discipline are required.
  • A bachelor's degree in psychology, organizational behavior, marketing, or another behavioral science discipline is preferred.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Background managing research assistants and research operations within in-person and/or online behavioral research labs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social science research methods is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend effective changes while achieving key objectives is preferred.
  • Strategic planning, critical thinking, attention to detail, analytical, and persuasion skills are preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple detailed tasks or projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, students, faculty, and corporate contacts through in-person, email, and telephone communication is preferred.
  • A professional demeanor, tact, discretion, and a customer service-oriented approach are preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, approving hours, and overseeing RF-CDR Labs research assistants, including ongoing oversight of their interactions with Lab visitors and support for their professional development.
  • Coordinate with University partners, including Career Services staff, to recruit and support student research assistant staff.
  • Oversee recruitment initiatives for visitors to the Campus, Virtual, and Pop-Up Labs, including recruiting Mindworks visitors and supporting other RF-CDR programming initiatives.
  • Coordinate with RF-CDR Communications team members to develop and deliver recruitment content and strategy.
  • Provide oversight and project management for research conducted in the RFCDR Labs by affiliated faculty and graduate students, overseeing each research study from research request submission through final delivery of collected data across Campus Lab, Virtual Lab, and Pop-Up Lab locations.
  • Maintain current research ethics training, including the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program, and assist in training and overseeing research assistants as they engage with participants.
  • Maintain documentation of RF-CDR team members' ethics training.
  • Manage operational Institutional Review Board protocol records and update team member and ethics training records as needed.
  • Manage and analyze operational datasets, providing descriptive and statistical analysis of operational and accounting records maintained for the Labs.
  • Optimize lab operations by maintaining and reviewing operational records, supporting ongoing operational initiatives, and conducting and presenting data analysis from these records for quarterly meetings.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory management, maintaining and tracking materials, equipment, logs, and other items required for faculty research projects carried out in the CDR Labs.
  • Manage procurement of study-related supplies and materials.
  • Manage and reconcile expenses using University of Chicago systems, including GEMS.
  • Assist in maintaining budgets and accounting records related to participant payments, and assist with producing research chargeback records and reports.
  • Attend and assist in managing RFCDR Center and Labs team meetings.
  • Assist the RFCDR Administrative Office with projects and events as needed.
  • Maintain technical and administrative support for a research project.
  • Maintain recruitment and scheduling of research subjects.
  • Assist with developing or amending study protocols and developing data collection tools.
  • Assist with building databases and providing general administrative support.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
