Requirements
  • A BA or BS degree from a college or university is required.
  • At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years successfully managing engineering teams, is required.
  • Proven experience directly leading, coaching, and developing Engineering Managers and Technical Leads is required.
  • Strong experience with scalable cloud architecture, event-driven systems, API-first SaaS platforms, or workflow automation engines is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and ship complex, data-intensive, or automation-heavy products on time is required.
  • Deep proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies, sprint planning, and modern continuous integration/continuous delivery practices is required.
  • Active engagement in technical design reviews to ensure platform durability, security, and scalability is required.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical strategies, risks, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and leadership is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering organization building the AI Patient Engagement Agent for standardized patient interactions, recruitment, appointment management, and prescreening outreach.
  • Build configurable, script-driven conversational workflows tailored to diverse clinical trials and patient needs.
  • Engineer a resilient logistics and orchestration engine that accounts for safe-call windows, time zones, call-center hours, outcome tracking, and adaptive retry policies.
  • Own execution of the AI Patient Engagement engineering roadmap and partner with Product and Design to translate trial protocols into AI interaction workflows.
  • Participate in architectural design reviews for real-time voice, messaging, workflow orchestration, and data pipeline engines.
  • Ensure the team builds a resilient, highly available platform that scales without accumulating technical debt.
  • Manage team capacity, resource allocation, feature delivery, platform stability, and technical debt.
  • Refine Agile ceremonies and continuous integration/continuous delivery practices and remove operational roadblocks.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and Tech Leads; conduct regular one-on-ones, develop career trajectories, and recruit engineering talent.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-accountability environment where engineers are empowered, aligned, and motivated by healthcare impact.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact across departments and translate complex AI, telemetry, and platform concepts for executive leadership and non-technical partners.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or strong interest in conversational systems, telephony infrastructure including voice and SMS integrations, or AI/automation workflows.
  • Prior experience in HealthTech, Biotech, Clinical Trials, Life Sciences, or another highly regulated domain with strict data privacy requirements.
